POOF! - Part 2

Okay, so my world didn't crumble. I didn't die -- although there were times...

Turning 50 (I suspect) isn't easy for anyone. Let's face it, we'd all like to stay young and beautiful. Hell, I'd settle for a bit less downward movement -- if you know what I mean.

Anyway, today's another day and I think I'll be fine... Just as long the next person that sees me with my kids doesn't say, "What lovely grandchildren you have".

P.S. Next time, I'll be weighing the pros and cons of keeping my hair silver, or dyeing it.

Saturday, July 28, 2007

Well, it's happened. Mark the date. July 28th, 2007 -- the date I officially disappeared.

It's not that I wanted to. I hadn't even planned it. And still it happened.

What happened?

I turned 50.

So what? Who cares? People do it all the time. What's the big deal?

If you just asked those questions you're...

1. Not there yet, or
2. Not a woman

When a woman turns 50 she automatically becomes invisible to the world. She no longer exists as far as the media is concerned. Come to think of it, she doesn't exist for the rest of society, either. She becomes a non-entity.

She's now considered a SENIOR CITIZEN.

The mail she receives will be forever different. Replacing the active sportswear and sexy lingere catalog junk mail will be catalogs for medical aids, senior supplements, and (God forbid) funeral arrangements!

How I went from 22 to 50 without noticing I'll never understand.

I think there'll be be tears on my birthday cake this evening.

Newsflash: "Old Dog Learns New Trick!"

In an attempt to look a bit "hipper" and more interesting, I am learning to use such things as photo embedding in my blogs.

It ain't all that easy, folks. If anyone out there can give me some sage advice on how to do this faster (it took me a half-hour to figure this one out), I beseech you...

P.S. - No, this isn't a photo of me; just some old broad that is experiencing the same frustrations as I am.
