Not Just For Today

Tonight, with Chanukah coming to an end and with Christmas looming nearby, I wish you and yours the very best. May the spirit of the season be with you whatever religion you call your own. Be good to yourself. Be good to others. Be well.

Peace.

Lame and Lamer

I got a call today from Mark at THE VINE ENTERTAINMENT. Remember them? They're the production company from the post below that turned out to be one giant red herring. Anyway, it seems they received my screenplay and are very interested in setting up a meeting with me.

Say what?!

I told Mark that I had already had one meeting with Cameron Graham. He was understandably confused and said he'd talk with Cameron about it. I told him not to bother. Then I told him I believe his company to be a sham and not to contact me again.

Three hours later I received another call. This time, from Warren (the receptionist/assistant) at THE VINE. He asks me what I meant by "Their company is a sham"? I told him that any production company that boasts of a $60 million dollar account ripe for productions, and then turns around and asks writers to pay for their own coverage is not on the level. His response was, "Well, then you don't understand how independent productions companies work."I told him I was this close to calling the Better Business Bureau on them, and not to contact me again.

So, what do you think? Will I get "blacklisted" by them? Should I expect a 350-pound thug on my doorstep in the middle of the night?
